I really have nothing against hand trimmers; some of my best friends have trimmed for me. They relied on me and were a critical part of my business. But as the market becomes more and more competitive, some of the old ways of processing are not as good as they once were. We have all had to find ways to streamline to compete with new and industrial size growers.
I am not a fan of making our business large and commercial either. Big is not always better. Some of the new products that systematize my work watering or feeding are fantastic, but I don’t want to have too much mechanization when it comes to trimming. For this reason, I was never a fan of mechanized trimming. My experience is that bladed machines can mangle your buds, cut off too much flower and reduce the great aroma. Dry trimming is my favored approach, but I didn’t see an option for gently dry trimming at an affordable price.
This is why I invented Tom’s Tumble Trimmer. Tom’s Tumble Trimmer is a trimming approach that is uniquely in between hand-trimming and bladed, mechanized trimming. The soft mesh nets on my tumbler gently help the buds knock the leaves off each other like a hand trimmer does with scissors. But the buds are only “handled” 3 or 4 minutes and they are only touched by other buds and the netting. In less than 5 minutes Tom’s Tumbler trims 1-6 pounds, depending on the model, often with little touch up needed. Yes, you can get hand-trimmed quality without paying hand-trimmed prices or expensive machinery prices. Tumbling is the low-cost alternative to both.
Tom’s Tumbler is a simple concept that works as well as it promises, which I why I stand behind every machine we sell. We have thousands of happy customers because it works and because it is simple to use. The fact that is is quiet, easy to clean and pays for itself in a day or two of use makes customers even happier.
I know it is tempting to buy a a shiny, sexy industrial machine, but your buds and your customers will be happier with more gentle trimmer. You don’t want to pay a lot for hand trimming when a tumbler can do the same work for a fraction of the cost and time. If you don’t believe me, rent one or call us for a demo. You will be so glad you did.
